My mother's Birthday Card

11:31 AM
I can hardly believe we are coming to the end of January.  I forgot to post my mother's birthday card.  I wanted to do something with a pop up with the K & Co. paper that I used to make her gift.  I made a set of three books in a box.  The pattern is from Kathryn.  You can find it at www.kathrynscraps.com She has so many great projects.  I love going to her show on Thursdays.  It's free on U stream.  I created my own version of a pop n cut on my Silhouette Cameo.  I am pretty sure mine is a bit smaller, but I can make it in any size I want on my cameo.  Thanks for stopping by, JIL

The stamps are from PSX & Inkadinkado.  I used punches from Stampin Up & EK Success. Everything is aged with Tea Dye & Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

Congratulations Card

6:09 PM
I just wanted to pop in and show another card I made this week.  It was really easy to put together.  It's a Congratulations card for one of my mother's friends who made our local paper.  She wanted it to be masculine and gave me no other guidelines to follow.  Right away, I thought of my Tim Holtz collections.  It really was a no-brainer.  I started with a circle card cut file on my Silhouette Cameo along with a scalloped circle.  I scored the circle card in half to make it into an easel card.  I used the tattered clock face die as the focal piece.  I cut it with chipboard.  It was first painted with my espresso paint dabber followed by a light sponging of paint with my gold paint dabber.  I used BoBunny paper.  The Congratulations stamp is from a wonderful stamp set from Stampin' Up and was stamped with coffee Archival ink.  I added some game spinners & a gear to the center with a long brad.  They're all from Tim Holtz.  The punches I used were also from Stampin' Up.  Thanks for stopping by!  JIL

Spectrum Noir Markers

6:12 PM
A few weeks ago, I  tried a set of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  I wasn't sure what to expect because they were very inexpensive compared to my Copic markers.  I loved working with their bullet tip.  So, I decided to take the plunge & invest in the entire set.  I have been getting the six color sets at JoAnn's with my 50% off coupons for $8 each.  Then I took advantage of some on-line holiday sales to get the four sets of the 24 colors.  I got each set for $32 each.  I just need to go into Orlando again to get the warm & cool grey's to finish off my collection.  I have showed some of my results on my you tube channel.  I plan to show more with them now that I have more markers.   Here are a few of the cards I made.

I used the Autumn Fairy Digi from The Greeting Farm on Cryogen white paper.  The image was colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I used several punches from Martha Stewart & Stampin' Up.

Here is a close up photo of the fairy.

This is a tri-fold card that I made for Joey for Valentines Day.  It is another Greeting Farm Digi printed on the Cryogen white paper.  I used the Martha Stewart Valentine's Day paper on this one.  Once again, I used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color this image.

here is a close up of the image.  The paper has flecks of mica in it & it looks like white dots in this photo.

Thanks for checking out my post.  JIL
